Dian Finley Lewis passed away at age 81 on September 13, 2017 surrounded by loving family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Sam H. Finley, her son, James E. Cleckley and Grandchildren: Cody & Clay Dickinson, Tyler, Blake and Camryn Cleckley. Dian was an active member of Faith Methodist Church, and participated in the "Meals-on-Wheels" program.
Dian was born July 17, 1936, graduated from Reagan High School and spent her memorable teenage years working in her Dad's drug store, Hyde Park Pharmacy. She concluded her work career as a valued employee at John L. Wortham, where she made many life-time friends and met her husband, Al Lewis, who passed away in 2013. With the passing of her daughter, Dian became the guardian of her 3 year old grandson's, Cody & Clay. The boys now at age 17 cherish the love and guidance given them by their strong and resilient grandmother.
Her colorful life included: yachting with Captain Al on their boat, The Alleluia, traveling the world with friends, sharing laughter and joy as "Moonbeam" during her clowning days, taking meals to her special Seniors and her volunteer work with the Missouri City Police Department.
Dian was a fun, energetic and most positive light in the life of all the people that knew and loved her.
Her blessed son, Jimmy and boys Cody & Clay will miss her laughter as she sat at the kitchen table with her morning paper, enjoying the latest antics of Rat in "Pearls Before Swine".
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Sep 20 at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home. Funeral Services will held at 10:00 am on Thursday, Sep 21 at Faith Methodist Church in Richmond. Burial services will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023.
